5DOF SET CONFIGURATION

The 5DOF setup with QS-220 actuators combines a 3DOF cockpit (built around four QS-220 actuators) with the QS-CH2 traction loss platform installed underneath, adding yaw and surge (forward/backward movement).

Compared to the QS-210 version, QS-220 simply gives you more room to “feel” the motion – thanks to its longer stroke and extra force, the cues can be deeper, smoother, and easier to control.

Q-1: What's the difference between 4DOF (QS-V20) and 5DOF (3DOF + QS-CH2)?

QS-V20 is a turnkey 4DOF cockpit with Heave, Pitch, Roll, and Yaw (no Surge). The 5DOF configuration adds Surge motion for forward/backward acceleration feel, making it superior for braking and throttle feedback. However, QS-V20 is a complete solution while 5DOF is modular, requiring your own cockpit.

Q-2: Can I add QS-CH2 to my existing 3DOF setup?

Yes! If you already have QS-220 (or QS-210) 3DOF actuators, you can purchase QS-CH2 separately to upgrade to 5DOF. The QS-CH2 includes mounting brackets for integration with your existing actuators.

Q-3: How much space does the 5DOF system require?

The QS-CH2 platform measures 1329 × 1073mm (52 × 42 inches) and weighs 160kg. Your cockpit and actuators sit on top of this. Allow additional clearance for motion travel. The system requires single-phase 115-230V AC power.

Q-4: How do Surge and Yaw motion improve vehicle control?

Surge motion pushes you forward under braking and backward under acceleration – the same forces you’d feel in a real car. This makes threshold braking much easier to judge and helps you sense traction loss before you see it. Combined with Yaw for oversteer feel, it’s transformative for rally, drift, and high-performance driving simulation.
