QUBIC SYSTEM COMMUNITY

pierre’s story

I’ve been a racing fan for years but only started racing in Assetto Corsa when I bought a PC. When I bought AC Competitione I felt I needed a real rig and real equipment. I used entry gear like Playseat and G29. That was weak and uncomfortable.

I felt that it’s better to go all in now instead of buying intermediate stuff which I had to upgrade later. So I bought a Fanatec DD2, SRP pedals, a button box and a alu rig with bucket seat. I also got motion system which moves the rig with the road and forces. I drive in VR HTC Vive and I felt that the immersion wasn’t complete without a belt system so I had to get the Qubic Belt Tensioner QS-BT1.

Any advice for other sim racers?

Always tighten the belts as if you’re going out on a real race track. The effect is then amplified in the belts. I had a bit of slack at first but it really took off when I strapped in seriously.

Future Plans

As there will be a Ferrari F40 available in ACEvo I’ll have to get a H pattern gearbox. That should be the final upgrade LOL.

Why Qubic System?

I have the QS-BT1 with a 2″ 6 point seatbelt. The system was a bit challenging to fit on the rig but I managed without huge trouble. Attaching the belts to the rig was easy with 8MM bolts. The software is easy to use and bug free. The only thing I’d like to have is a way to mark games as not to be included for updates. An example is X-Plane which I don’t fly from the rig so I’d like to put it on “ignore”. Otherwise the software will nag me about installing drivers forever.

Driving with the belts have given a whole new experience of car control since the braking force can be felt in the belts as the effect is almost as in a real car where you are thrown forward.
