QUBIC SYSTEM COMMUNITY

thomas’ story

I started sim racing in 2019 by chance. My lovely girlfriend got me a Logitech G920 for Christmas, and I was instantly hooked. Like most people, I started on a desk and then did the famous “last upgrade” for six years straight!

Assetto Corsa was my first love, and I raced mostly for fun. From the very beginning, my main focus was immersion. I quickly turned to VR, as it was the easiest way to feel like I was truly sitting in the car. But I’m also a competitor, so I jumped into iRacing—and never left!

Over the years, I made numerous upgrades to my rig, always chasing that feeling of truly being in the car and feeling the car itself. My first load cell, my first direct drive, my first aluminum profile rig, my first bucket seat… Every step was aimed at deeper immersion. I did a lot of DIY before eventually shifting toward more professional-looking setups.

However, VR became difficult for intensive use, and living in a flat meant space was a major factor. I also wanted a clean-looking rig that could blend into my living space as part of the decor. Now, I believe I’ve found a good middle ground between immersion, design, and space.

Why Qubic System?

I wanted to increase immersion without increasing the footprint of my rig or having a bunch of cables and controllers cluttering the clean look. Then I heard about the Qubic QS-BT1 Belt Tensioner, it took me only a week before making the purchase.

Qubic seemed to offer simplicity and efficiency in every aspect: clean installation, user-friendly setup, and a high-quality product. Everything was exactly where it needed to be. The unboxing experience didn’t disappoint either—setup was easy, both hardware and software.

The Belt Tensioner looks like an integral part of the rig. I jump in, and it works immediately! There’s no hassle—just straight into racing and enjoying the experience. I hadn’t heard of Qubic before, but now I’ll definitely keep an eye on their products for future upgrades… you said motion?

Any advice for other sim racers?

If you want the best experience without dealing with hardware and software, Qubic is for you. The hardest part is carrying the package to your rig. Everything else is taken care of by Qubic. Don’t want to mess with settings? Their software comes with optimized default settings for each game, ready to use. Jump in the car and enjoy!

Future Plans

With my new Qubic QS-BT1, I feel the car like never before. I’ll need some time to get used to it and take full advantage, especially when braking. I don’t know if I’ll be faster, but I will certainly enjoy the immersion.

The rig is pretty finished now. There are always small adjustments to be made, but the final major upgrade will be a motion system.
