QUBIC SYSTEM COMMUNITY

OLA’s story

Had friends that convinced me to try Simracing, and after a lot of research, I decided to go all-in right away. In January 2021, I started building a full triple-screen, aluminum profile, direct-drive rig, with my full focus on iRacing then—and it has remained so since. After a year, I added a Sigma motion system and a PT belt tensioner, gaining a lot of experience with them over the past two years. I’ve been beta-testing motion software for my system since I got it, providing a lot of feedback that has led to improvements. I also built a custom shaker system and am part of the development of a very advanced haptic effect software.

Today, I drive in a simulator 5–20 hours a week, as it’s my main hobby—90% of the time still in iRacing, with the occasional rally or flight sim.

Any advice for other sim racers?

A high-quality product that’s easy to set up and get running. However, it has a lot of features and settings, so tuning it 100% correctly takes time and understanding. While many reviewers excel at this, there are also plenty who simply run default settings and praise it regardless.

Why Qubic System?

After seeing a lot of good feedback on the QS-BT1, I was tempted to replace my previous belt tensioner. The QS-BT1 has impressed me so far after a week of testing. It’s very fast, quiet, and offers a lot of great effects and options for personal settings! I’ve identified some potential areas for improvement in tuning, which I shared with Qubic. They responded right away with a positive attitude. It’s important that they listen to users, and they genuinely seem to value feedback!

Future Plans

For now, the focus is mostly on enjoying the hobby of Simracing. It’s a 50/50 split between the fun of driving and developing/testing, but I do drive a lot and always aim to improve my skills.

I have no plans for hardware changes at the moment, but I’m sure that might (and probably will) change 🙂.
