The NOOBIFIER1337 documents the design, build and installation of a rally training simulator for a Canadian crew: driver Michael and co-driver Simon. After testing 4DOF, 5DOF and 6DOF configurations back to back at the studio, the crew chose four QS-220 actuators over a QS-CH2 traction loss platform, mounted on a Monster Tech MTS chassis.

The unusual part is the second seat. The co-driver sits on a QS-H13 seat mover with his own QS-BT1 belt tensioner, on a custom base cut to match the driver’s seat height, with a kick plate like the one in the real car. Two belt tensioners running on one system mirror each other, so both crew members get the same cues at the same moment.

The reason it matters: a co-driver times his pace notes by feel, not by watching the road. Put him on a moving seat and he stops being a passenger and starts training too.
