Before Covid, I had a Playseat with a Logitech setup, but I ended up selling it once I stopped playing Forza. At that point I didn’t even know iRacing existed. In 2017 I bought a Corvette and spent the next four years tracking it up and down the East Coast.

Then Covid hit in 2020. The tracks shut down, and since I’d already sold my Playseat, I decided to build a real rig instead, which is when I discovered iRacing. That was the turning point, and from there I went through several setups, including SimLab and Next Level rigs. Over the following five years I tested a range of different motion simulators, and here’s where I’ve landed today.

If you want the best Qubic is the answer. Yes there are cheaper systems out there. But you get what you pay for. If you are in the market for DBox you are in the same market for Qubic. Buy once Cry Once!

I really can’t add anymore to this setup. I know a lot of people say they are done and really don’t mean it. But I am truly done and happy with this beautiful rig. No plans to change anything anytime soon.

Best of the best hardware and software. I have nothing bad to say. Easy to use and easy to update.

My first experience with motion simulation was the Next Level Racing Motion Plus, front and back, so 3DOF. It was solid, but I knew early on it wasn’t the top of the market. The build quality was great, and once I dug into research on DBox and other motion systems, I learned that Next Level’s systems were actually built by Motion Systems, the same company behind Qubic. I already loved the Motion Plus software, and after watching some YouTubers cover the Qubic platform, I noticed it runs essentially the same software, still intuitive and easy to use.

That’s what led me to the QS-220s, and the upgrade was immediate. The one thing still missing was traction loss and surge feedback, which is what pointed me toward the QS-CH2 next. Together, those two elements are genuinely game changing for immersion and how clearly the car communicates what it’s doing. The QS-CH2 in particular has helped me catch slides that the wheelbase alone wouldn’t have flagged for me.

VR motion compensation was another big factor in my decision, since it worked so well on the Next Level Motion Plus that I wanted to keep that experience going.

I recently went to the Charlotte Sim Racing Expo and sat in several other motion platforms, including DBox, Vero, Moza and a few other high end systems. After comparing them directly, I can say without hesitation that Qubic is one of, if not the best, motion platform on the market right now. Qubic for the win.
